Through the Oklahoma Dementia Care Network (OkDCN) and the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Project (GWEP), a two-phased training program has been developed, known as ECHO. Phase one - COVID Infection Prevention; phase two - Dementia Age-Friendly Quality of Care. The ECHO approach is designed to make it as simple as possible for people to share knowledge. ECHO uses Zoom, a cloud-based video platform that brings all those who are part of an ECHO together from wherever they may be. There is no need to buy any special software, and if your computer lacks a camera, we may be able to provide you with one to use.

ECHO learning communities for patient navigators will focus on increasing patient navigators’ knowledge and skills in topics of interest. During ECHO sessions, Subject Matter Experts give presentations, case studies, and quality improvement presentations with emphasis on quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI). ECHO is an all teach all learn collaborative learning platform with emphasis on best practices ensuring quality of care for older adults, focusing on the 4M’s of Adult Healthcare: Mobility, Medications, Mentation (Mind & Mood), and What Matters Most.
