Your Beneficiary Rights

People with Medicare have guaranteed rights, including the right to quality health care and the right to appeal some decisions about health care coverage.  As the Medicare quality improvement organization, Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality (OFMQ) helps ensure health care providers deliver the best possible medical care and that beneficiaries receive the appropriate care they are entitled to.

Our job includes reviewing concerns regarding care by a Medicare provider, such as a doctor, a hospital, an emergency room, a hospital outpatient department, a hospice or home health agency, a skilled nuring facility, an ambulatory surgery center or a health maintenance organization (HMO).

We also process appeals about termination of service and coverage decisions while a patient remains in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation unit, home health or hospice agency.  If you believe your services by a Medicare provider are being terminated prematurely, call OFMQ at 1-800-522-3414.
