Setting Targets-Achieving Results (STAR)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has designed a new web site to help nursing homes set quality improvement targets.

The Setting Tartets-Achieving Results (STAR) website lets nursing homes to set annual targets and track performance on four quality measures:high-risk pressure ulcers, physical restraints, depression, and chronic care pain. The STAR site and its tools are provided at no cost to all nursing homes across the nation.
