Optimizing Medication Use in the Elderly

Oklahoma healthcare providers are invited to participate in a free CME-Accredited Program to learn about optimizing medication use with elderly Oklahomans. This educational program will feature a presentation by Dr. Mark Stratton from the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. He will discuss the medication risks specific to geriatric patients, compare and contrast potentially inappropriate medications in the elderly with safer alternatives, and discuss OFMQ’s SPOkE project and role of providers in it.

For physicians:

  1. View the entire WebEx Presentation.
  2. Read the additional resources and bibliographic references.
  3. Test your knowledge with the case scenario.
  4. Fully complete the CME test.
  5. Complete the CME program evaluation form and send it to OFMQ.

Please note: Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality is accredited by the Oklahoma State Medical Association; therefore, only medical physicians licensed in the State of Oklahoma are eligible to receive AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM from OFMQ.

    The estimated time to complete this program is 1.5 hours.
