QIOs Adopt New Standards of Accountability

Consistent with OFMQ’s history of upholding the highest standards of ethics in governance and business conduct, OFMQ’s board approved adoption of a new national accountability standards policy. Approved on December 20, 2005 by the American Health Quality Association (AHQA), the trade organization for QIOs, the policy entitled “Standards for Organizational Integrity of AHQA Institutional Members” calls for QIOs to self-regulate at a high level of accountability regarding travel, compensation, board composition, independence and conflict of interest. Nearly all QIOs in the nation, representing 50 jurisdictions, have adopted the new policy. View the AHQA governance policy statement on www.ahqa.org.
