QAPI

Nursing homes throughout the country are working toward developing Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plans (QAPI), as required by the Affordable Care Act of 2010.

The QAPI philosophy helps ensure a systematic, comprehensive, data-driven approach to care.

When nursing home leaders promote such an approach, the results may prevent adverse events, promote safety and quality, and reduce risks to residents and caregivers. This effort is not only about meeting minimum standards—it is about continually aiming higher.
