Measures Informatics Specialist
This position uses knowledge of clinical sciences, computer science, and information technology to identify, collect, process and manage data in the development of quality measures. Registered nurse to work on national healthcare initiative for developing and maintaining hospital quality of care measures for the electronic health record. Experience in nurse informatics, electronic health record data collection, quality improvement and performance measurement essential. Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Identify and review literature supporting quality measures and assist in development of annotated bibliographies and gap analyses.
• Based on guidelines and clinical evidence, develop quality measures utilizing data available in an electronic health record
• Collaborate with other team members and national topic experts to develop and disseminate project materials.
• Respond to inquiries regarding clinical and technical aspects of performance measures This includes email, telephone, and other sources including online tools.
• Actively participate on workgroups and committees created to support projects as directed. Work with topic specific team members within the department and other organizations as needed to produce aligned measure specifications.
• Update technical specifications as needed due to changes in clinical science, abstraction issues, and or expert panel direction.
Requirements:
• Registered Nurse (BSN required, MSN preferred)
• Experience with nurse informatics, electronic health record data collection, quality improvement and performance measurement
