A Long-Standing Partner
For 35 years, Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has played an integral role in improving health care and improving lives in Oklahoma. As the original Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) in Oklahoma, contracted through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), we provide in-depth quality evaluation and improvement programs for Medicare. An expert consultant to the health community, we are working toward a health care system where every person receives the right care every time, and where providers have the tools and resources to deliver that care.
Our Vision and Mission
What We Do
We collaborate with Oklahoma health care providers, health plans, pharmacies and stakeholder groups to improve the quality, safety and integrity of healthcare. We offer expert consulting resources and tools to hospitals, physicians and nursing homes. We support national quality initiatives through our patient safety quality improvement support center (QIOSC) and, through additional contracts with CMS, we develop quality measures that are used on a national scale to help payers evaluate quality performance. OFMQ also serves Medicare beneficiaries to ensure they receive high-quality health services, and we educate consumers on patient rights and better health practices.
