Medicare's Health Care Quality Improvement Program to be Topic at the 2006 State Conference on Aging
Oklahoma City, Ok. April 28, 2006 – Oklahoma Foundation for Medical Quality (OFMQ), the state’s healthcare quality improvement organization (QIO), will address seniors and aging professionals on the impact of Medicare’s quality improvement program on Oklahoma’s healthcare system. OFMQ will speak Wednesday, May 3 from 8:45 to 10:00am.
OFMQ works with hospitals, physicians, nursing homes and home health agencies to improve health care and improve lives for Oklahomans. OFMQ representatives will present Building Transformational Change Across the Continuum of Care, an overview the Medicare QIO program aimed to dramatically improve healthcare quality in every setting. OFMQ will discuss how the increasingly aging and ethnically diverse population will impact health care and how providers are actively involved in implementing systems changes to improve quality and prepare for the increased demands on health care in the future.
Additionally, information and resources to help seniors make more informed decisions about their healthcare will be available at OFMQ’s booth during the three day event.
The conference, expected to attract 500 professionals, seniors and students, will be held at the Reed Center, located at 5800 Will Rogers Blvd in Midwest City May 2-4. For more information on the conference, visit
